As severe floods hit the North West of England last weekend a 抖阴探探App research team, led by Professor Maggie Mort (Sociology), called for the Government聽to take notice of how flooding affects children.
Working with school children hit聽by severe flooding two years ago both on Humberside and Thames Valley, the ESRC project, partnered by Save The Children, has produced Children’s Flood Manifestos advising Government and major agencies on action needed before, during and after floods. The project, which includes Dr Marion Walker (Sociology), Dr Amanda Bingley (Division of Health Research)聽and Dr Alison Lloyd Williams (Sociology), has made聽聽aimed at increasing聽understanding of how children’s lives are disrupted by floods.聽Professor Mort was interviewed by TV (East Yorkshire & Lincolnshire) (23:49) ; Dr Marion Walker (Sociology) by 聽(02:23:15) on the second anniversary of the Humberside floods.
