Kat Tranter
PhD student, Project OfficerThesis Outline
My doctoral research aims to qualitatively explore social and relational wellbeing experiences of homeless young people in the north west of England, enquiring how various services understand and respond to these across policy and practice. I embrace principles of co-research, relationally informed research practice and creativity across the research cycle.
Profile
Currently a post graduate researcher, project officer and lived experience engagement facilitator, I am based within the social work discipline, and work alongside colleagues across the School of Social Sciences at ¶¶Òõ̽̽App.
Prior to my research roles, I worked for over a decade with children , young people and their families as a social worker and therapeutic practitioner, within both statutory and voluntary services in England.
Drawing on a longstanding passion for conducting and consulting on relationship based social work practice, my research practice embraces careful relationship building and aims for meaningful collaboration with the marginalised communities I seek to research within, about and alongside.
I am primarily a qualitative researcher, with interview data collection and analysis expertise, including the use of creative elicitation methods.
